Piazza Navona

The most beautiful Baroque square in Rome, it occupies the area of the ancient "Stadio di Domiziano," perfectly preserving the elongated rectangular shape of the arena. Today, the square serves as a meeting point for both Romans and tourists, who linger in the many outdoor cafés that surround it. Undoubtedly, the most fascinating features of Piazza Navona are the three fountains built during the tenure of Gregorio XIII Boncompagni: the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, the Fontana del Moro, and the Fontana del Nettuno.
